Mdina glass vase Studio Glass Cut Ice Lollipop
Mdina glass was founded in the late summer of 1968 by Michael Harris, a former graduate then teacher, with the Royal London College of Art. The name Mdina was chosen because, one, it was the ancient capital of Malta, and two, it wasn't an anglicised name, hence it associated the glass with location, and not a person. Under Michael's leadership, the Mdina glass company produced Mediterranean free formed, organic in style glassware, inspired by their location, (sand, sea, sky and earth) which became extremely popular with tourists visiting Malta.
