HISTORY

Frank Guille was foremost a furniture designer and later teacher and Head of Furniture Design at the RCA London. Born in 1927, he was taught by Robin Day, John Cole, Gordon Russell, and Danish designer Kaare Klint, who are all considered to be amongst the most important modern furniture designers.

Guille’s furniture designs were led by his belief in functionality, utility and simplicity. His elegant furniture was visually simple and refined, taking commissions from the likes of Heals and Kandya Ltd.

A staple of many homes back in the Mid 20th Century, Formica topped tables were practical and stylish. They came in many shapes, sizes, patterns and colours, instantly transforming any dull kitchen/dining room.
